Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the execution of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) items, including tools, spare parts, vendor-managed inventory (VMI), and safety equipment. Ensures timely fulfillment of immediate operational needs through effective procurement practices. Monitors and evaluates supplier performance, with a focus on on-time delivery and product quality, to support supply chain reliability and continuous improvement.

- Procurement: Manage Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials—including tools, spare parts, vendor-managed inventory (VMI), and safety equipment to meet operational requirements.
- Purchase Order Accuracy: Ensure all purchase orders comply with internal standards and contractual obligations, maintaining data integrity across systems.
- Inventory Strategy & ERP Management: Define and maintain stocking parameters within the ERP system to support accurate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and optimize inventory levels.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and sustain strong vendor partnerships to ensure continuity of supply, responsiveness, and alignment with business goals.
- Order Fulfillment & Logistics: Oversee the end-to-end purchase order process, including order placement, shipment tracking, and proactive follow-up to ensure on-time delivery and supplier performance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and other departments to align procurement activities with material needs and project timelines.
- ERP Data Governance: Maintain accurate delivery dates and shipment details within ERP systems to support planning, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- 3 years equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment

5 years of purchasing in automotive industry

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

Knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Logistics

Specific knowledge of MRO purchasing techniques and GL Codes

Understanding of the make/buy process and cost structure

Strong MRP knowledge

Strong data analysis skills

Strong Excel Skills

Experience with MAS500, QAD, D365 a plus

Ability to develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally- Long periods of time sitting at a desk (daily).
- Able to efficiently utilize computer equipment. Manual dexterity to type on computer keyboard and operate general office equipment, such as phone and copier.
- Ability to move throughout the facilities to interact with employees in their work environment
