Position Description

The Camp Boss is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and supervision of camp operations at the project shift camp. The role ensures proper accommodation, room allocation, personnel distribution, discipline, welfare, and smooth day-to-day functioning of the camp in accordance with company policies, project requirements, and safety standards.

Purpose of the work

To ensure efficient and uninterrupted camp operations by maintaining proper living conditions, organizing accommodation and room allocation, controlling the distribution of personnel within the camp, supervising support services, and ensuring compliance with internal rules, health, safety, and fire protection requirements.

Main responsibilities

  • Organize, manage, and supervise all daily operations of the project camp.
  • Ensure proper accommodation of employees and maintain appropriate living conditions in the shift camp.
  • Manage and control the allocation of rooms and beds in the camp accommodation facilities.
  • Monitor the distribution of personnel across rooms, blocks, cabins, or camp units, ensuring accurate occupancy records at all times.
  • Maintain up-to-date information on room occupancy, bed availability, arrivals, departures, and internal transfers of camp residents.
  • Coordinate accommodation arrangements for new arrivals, visitors, contractors, and other personnel as required by the project.
  • Ensure fair and efficient placement of employees according to project needs, camp capacity, and approved accommodation plans.
  • Supervise camp support services, including housekeeping, cleaning, maintenance, catering, laundry, security, and other camp-related functions.
  • Monitor the condition of camp buildings, rooms, furniture, equipment, and common areas, and take timely measures for repair and maintenance.
  • Control cleanliness and order throughout the camp territory and accommodation facilities.
  • Ensure implementation of fire prevention measures and monitor the proper condition and availability of fire-fighting equipment.
  • Enforce camp rules, accommodation procedures, and internal discipline among camp residents.
  • Coordinate with HR, administration, logistics, security, and project management on personnel movements, accommodation plans, and camp-related matters.
  • Prepare regular reports on camp occupancy, room allocation, incidents, maintenance issues, and overall camp status.
  • Support communication between project management, contractors, camp staff, and residents.
  • Monitor the use of camp resources and ensure proper utilization of available facilities.
  • Participate in resolving accommodation-related issues, employee complaints, and camp operational problems.
  • Maintain records, logs, and reports related to camp administration and supervised activities.
  • Carry out other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor within the framework of official duties.

Company Requirements

  • Knowledge of camp administration and accommodation management.
  • Understanding of personnel coordination and workforce distribution in shift camp conditions.
  • Knowledge of administrative record-keeping and reporting.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety, fire safety, and environmental protection requirements.
  • Ability to manage support service personnel and coordinate contractors or service providers.
  • Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Qualification requirements

  • Higher education in Administration, Management, Logistics, Hospitality, or a technical field.
  • Additional training or certificates in camp management, occupational safety, fire safety, or facility management will be an advantage.
  • English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate level or higher.
  • Good command of MS Office and administrative reporting tools.

Has rights

· Request from project departments and camp residents all necessary information related to accommodation, occupancy, and camp operations.

· Make decisions within the scope of authority on room allocation, personnel placement, and daily camp organizational matters.

· Submit proposals to management regarding improvement of camp conditions, accommodation systems, and support services.

· Report violations of camp rules, safety requirements, and internal regulations to management.

Responsibility

  • Ensure continuous and efficient camp operations.
  • Ensure proper accommodation and accurate room allocation for all camp residents.
  • Ensure correct and timely distribution of personnel within camp accommodation facilities.
  • Ensure the proper condition, cleanliness, and functionality of camp premises and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with camp rules, company regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and control of occupancy and camp-related administrative records.

Liability of the Materially Responsible Person (MRP):

· Responsible for the safekeeping of camp property, furniture, equipment, materials, and inventory under his/her control.

· Ensure proper and economical use of camp resources and assets.

· Prevent loss, damage, or misuse of camp property and report any discrepancies immediately.

Compliance with civil protection rules, including industrial and fire safety, occupational safety and health, environmental protection and energy conservation:

· Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety rules in camp operations.

· Monitor compliance with fire safety requirements and emergency preparedness procedures.

· Ensure adherence to environmental protection standards and proper waste handling within the camp.

· Promote рациональное use of electricity, water, fuel, and other camp utilities.

· Support implementation of civil protection and emergency response measures in the camp.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in camp management, camp administration, facility management, or similar supervisory positions.
  • Experience in remote sites, construction projects, mining projects, oil & gas, or large workforce accommodation camps is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in room allocation, accommodation control, personnel distribution, and supervision of camp services is required.
  • Experience working in rotational / shift-based project environments is an advantage.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Balochistan
