The Camp Operations oversees all day-to-day camp logistics, including facility maintenance, catering, housekeeping, and safety compliance, ensuring a functional, secure, and efficient environment. They manage staff scheduling, budgets, vendor relationships, and infrastructure repairs (plumbing, electrical) to maintain high standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management: Directs daily, weekly, and monthly operations, covering accommodation, dining, and site maintenance.

Facility & Safety Maintenance: Inspects facilities, ensures proper sanitation, manages repairs, and maintains compliance with safety and health regulations (HACCP/COSHH).

Staff Supervision: Hires, trains, and supervises staff, including counselors and service workers, and conducts performance reviews.

Logistics & Supplies: Manages vendor relationships, orders food supplies, and controls inventory.

Budgeting & Reporting: Develops and monitors budgets, controls costs, and prepares reports on performance KPIs.

Crisis & Risk Management: Handles emergencies, resolves complaints, and ensures compliance with labor laws.

Qualifications

Experience: Usually 3+ years in facility management, camp administration, or hospitality.

Skills: Strong leadership, communication, budgetary, and problem-solving skills.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with maintenance tools, safety systems, and, for some roles, specialized catering or recreational equipment.

Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or a related field is often preferred.
