Job Title: Carpenter cum Supervisor

Reports To: Site Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Carpenter cum Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing carpentry works on-site, ensuring quality workmanship, adherence to project timelines, and compliance with design and safety standards. The role combines hands-on carpentry work with supervisory responsibilities to lead and coordinate a team of carpenters and helpers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Carpentry Works:

• Perform skilled carpentry tasks including cutting, assembling, fitting, and installation of doors, panels, furniture, partitions, ceilings, and other joinery items.
• Ensure precision and finishing quality as per approved drawings and specifications.
• Handle repair and modification works as required during the project.

2. Supervision & Coordination:

• Supervise carpentry teams and ensure smooth execution of site activities.
• Allocate tasks to team members and monitor productivity and quality.
• Coordinate with site engineers, designers, and other trades (electrical, mechanical, finishing) to avoid delays or conflicts.

3. Quality & Safety Compliance:

• Ensure all works are performed in line with company quality standards and client specifications.
• Conduct regular checks on materials and workmanship.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, enforcing all safety guidelines.

4. Material Management:

• Check material requirements and inform the site engineer or procurement team in advance.
• Minimize wastage and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
• Verify and receive carpentry-related deliveries on-site.

5. Reporting & Documentation:

• Maintain daily progress reports and update the site engineer or project manager.
• Record manpower deployment, material usage, and any site issues.
• Assist in preparing snag lists and ensure timely rectification before project handover.

Qualifications & Skills:

• ITI / Diploma in Carpentry or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in interior fit-out or joinery works, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of materials (MDF, plywood, veneer, laminate, etc.) and installation techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

• Site-based position (indoor/outdoor Fitout environments).
• May require extended working hours to meet deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
