The Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. This role ensures smooth billing operations, proper cash handling, and a positive shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers in a polite and professional manner.
  • Process sales transactions using POS systems (cash, card, digital payments).
  • Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges as per company policy.
  • Ensure accuracy in billing and cash handling at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized cashier counter.
  • Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Report any cash discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
  • Assist customers with product inquiries and promotions.
  • Support sales staff during busy periods.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and business information.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to operate POS systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
