The Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. This role ensures smooth billing operations, proper cash handling, and a positive shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Process sales transactions using POS systems (cash, card, digital payments).
- Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges as per company policy.
- Ensure accuracy in billing and cash handling at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier counter.
- Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Report any cash discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and promotions.
- Support sales staff during busy periods.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and business information.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to operate POS systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
