Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling transactions and maintaining the store's operational standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for helping customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries, providing knowledgeable product information.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
• Maintain an organized and clean checkout area, ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed.
• Assist with stocking shelves and merchandising products to enhance store presentation.
• Perform product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits.
• Upsell products when appropriate to maximize sales opportunities.
• Supervise junior staff members as needed, providing guidance and support in their roles.
• Exhibit excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or concerns.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
• Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply, as this will enhance customer interactions.
• Experience with merchandising and stocking practices in a grocery store setting is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating initiative.
• A keen understanding of retail math concepts to assist in inventory management and sales tracking.
