Cashier/stocker

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Cashier/Stocker to join our team in a fast paced retail store environment. This role combines the responsibilities of operating the cash register and ensuring that shelves are stocked and organized. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a knack for customer service, and an understanding of retail operations.

Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer transactions.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and assisting with product selection.
• Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
• Stock shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are well-organized and displayed attractively.
• Conduct product demonstrations to promote sales and enhance customer engagement.
• Assist in merchandising efforts to maximize product visibility and sales potential.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the checkout area and stockroom.
• Upsell products when appropriate to enhance the shopping experience for customers.
• Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance on best practices in customer service and stocking procedures.

Experience

• Prior experience in retail sales or liquor store environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with cashiering duties, including cash handling and basic math skills.
• Experience with merchandising techniques and product stocking is advantageous.
