Role summary:
You’ll own the commercial performance of one or more product categories on Grubss — shaping, assortment, pricing, supplier relationships, product content and promotions to grow category revenue, margin and customer satisfaction across our marketplace.
Key responsibilities:
● Assortment & Merchandising: Define SKU mix, lifecycle (launch, grow, prune), and merchandising hierarchy for your category to maximise conversion and AOV.
● Supplier & Sourcing Management: Identify, onboard and maintain relationships with suppliers and distributors; negotiate price, payment terms, and promotional support.
● Pricing & Promotions: Set competitive pricing, plan/promote offers and coordinate flash sales / marketplace campaigns to hit weekly & monthly targets.
● Product Content & SEO: Own product titles, descriptions, specs, images and on-site SEO so listings convert and reduce returns.
● Inventory & Demand Planning: Work with operations to maintain healthy stock levels, reduce OOS, and improve fill-rate through forecasting and reorder triggers.
● Data & Performance Analysis: Use weekly/monthly dashboards to track GMV, margin, sell-through, conversion, returns and take corrective action.
● Cross-functional execution: Coordinate with marketing, operations, supply chain, customer support and finance to deliver launches and promotional calendars.
● Competitive & Market Research: Monitor competitor prices, new products and shopper behavior to inform assortment and pricing decisions.
Required qualifications & experience:
● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Economics or related field.
● 2–3 years experience in e-commerce, retail or FMCG category/merchandising role (marketplaces experience is a plus).
● Strong analytical skills — comfortable with Excel (pivot tables), Google Sheets, basic SQL or BI tools to derive insights.
● Practical experience with product listing platforms (Shopify/WooCommerce/Magento) or marketplace seller consoles.
● Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills; results-driven and customer oriented.
Technical & desirable skills:
● Familiarity with Google Analytics, basic CRO practices (A/B testing), and SEO for product pages.
● Experience with inventory/ERP systems, or exposure to forecasting tools.
● Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and remote/agency partners.
