Heartsong Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our hospice care team. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Provide specialized hospice care that emphasizes comfort measures, pain management, and emotional support for terminally ill patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
- Assist with transfers and positioning to prevent bedsores and promote patient comfort in accordance with safety protocols.
- Engage with patients experiencing dementia or memory care needs, applying techniques suitable for Alzheimer's and other cognitive impairments.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current state licensure.
- Dependable transportation
- Experience working in hospice or palliative care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation.
- Prior work in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living, or home & community care settings preferred.
- Strong caregiving skills with an emphasis on geriatrics, behavioral health, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Excellent communication skills combined with the physical stamina required for patient service tasks such as lifting and transferring using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices.
