Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
- Assist with medication intake, verifying prescriptions, and updating patient records with precision.
- Support IV infusion procedures by maintaining aseptic technique and ensuring sterile compounding standards are met.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock replenishment and proper storage of medications in accordance with hospital policies.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering medication-related questions and supporting patient care initiatives.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication administration and optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of medication preparation, administration, and inventory activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
Experience
- Proven pharmacy technician experience in hospital or acute care settings, with a focus on LTC pharmacy or critical care environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication safety protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for handling sterile preparations.
- Experience with IV infusion therapies and medication administration within hospital or clinical settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail and adherence to strict protocols.
- Prior exposure to patient service roles emphasizing compassionate communication and teamwork in healthcare settings.
