The Opportunity

We are seeking a distinguished and visionary leader to assume the role of Chairman of the Dental Department. This is a pivotal executive position responsible for providing strategic direction, clinical leadership, and administrative oversight to one of the region's most advanced dental practices. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished clinician and a dynamic leader capable of inspiring a team of dental professionals, driving growth, and ensuring the delivery of world-class patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Vision:

  • Develop and execute the long-term strategic vision for the Dental Department in alignment with the hospital's overall mission and goals.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the dental department, including Orthodontics, Endodontics, Periodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics, and Pediatric Dentistry.
  • Drive clinical excellence, innovation, and the adoption of new technologies and treatment methodologies.

Clinical Governance & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure the delivery of the highest quality, evidence-based dental care to all patients.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor clinical protocols, policies, and procedures to meet and exceed international accreditation standards (CBAHI, JCI).
  • Champion a culture of continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management within the department.

Administrative & Operational Management:

  • Manage the department’s financial performance, including budgeting, revenue cycle, resource allocation, and cost control.
  • Optimize operational workflows to maximize efficiency, patient satisfaction, and clinic utilization.
  • Oversee the procurement and maintenance of state-of-the-art dental equipment and supplies.

Academic & Professional Development:

  • Foster a strong academic environment by promoting research, publications, and participation in scientific conferences.
  • Lead the recruitment, mentoring, training, and performance evaluation of dental staff, including consultants, specialists, and residents.
  • Develop and oversee accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs for departmental staff.

Collaboration & Representation:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Dental Department and hospital executive management, other clinical departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the department in hospital-wide committees and contribute to organizational strategic planning.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulations set forth by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and other relevant governmental bodies.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Medical Degree (DMD, DDS, or BDS) from an accredited institution.
  • American Board, Canadian Fellowship (FRCDC), UK/Ireland CCST, or equivalent Western certification in a dental specialty (e.g., Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Endodontics) is mandatory.
  • Valid SCFHS license as a Consultant (or eligibility for immediate transfer/classification).
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of post-certification experience, with at least 5-7 years in a significant leadership role (e.g., Division Head, Department Chair, or Program Director) within a large hospital or academic medical center.
  • Proven track record in clinical leadership, departmental administration, and financial management.
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Previous leadership experience in the Middle East/GCC region.

Desirable:

  • Master's degree or PhD in a dental or related field.
  • Master's in Healthcare Administration (MHA) or Business Administration (MBA).
