Job Overview

Emirates Talent Solution is seeking a seasoned Chief Accountant for a prominent property development and real estate company in Karachi. The candidate must bring at least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, preferably within the property development and real estate sector. The role requires strong expertise in financial reporting, taxation, compliance, audits, and treasury management. The Chief Accountant will serve as a key financial advisor to senior leadership, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial insights.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions with accuracy.
  • Deliver financial analysis and performance reports to guide management decisions.

Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with local taxation laws and statutory regulations.
  • Manage corporate tax, sales tax, and all related filings.
  • Liaise with auditors and tax advisors during audits and compliance reviews.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Monitor daily cash flow and banking operations to maintain liquidity.
  • Manage loan servicing, reconciliations, and treasury-related activities.
  • Develop cash flow forecasts and provide regular liquidity reports.

Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Contribute to annual budget preparation and financial projections.
  • Track variances and implement cost optimization measures.
  • Ensure transactions adhere to budgetary and internal control policies.

Audit & Internal Controls

  • Lead internal and external audit processes to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Strengthen internal control systems and accounting procedures.
  • Recommend process improvements to boost financial efficiency and compliance.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, guide, and mentor junior accountants and finance staff.
  • Provide training on accounting standards, ERP systems, and reporting protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes.

Key Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Certifications:

  • CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA (qualified or part-qualified) preferred/required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7+ years in accounting and finance.
  • At least 5 years in a senior finance role within property development or real estate (required).

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
  • Solid experience in reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and team management abilities.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs150,000.00 - Rs300,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Karachi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
