Chief Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Chief Accountant with more than 15 years of proven experience, preferably in a contracting / construction company. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in financial reporting, project accounting, cost control, and accounting software systems, with the ability to lead the finance function and provide strategic financial support to management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the full accounting and finance operations of the company.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Generate MIS reports, cash flow statements, P&L, balance sheet, and project-wise profitability reports.
• Monitor project costing, budget control, subcontractor payments, and expense allocations.
• Ensure accurate accounting for project materials, labor costs, overheads, and revenue recognition.
• Supervise accounts payable, receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, IFRS standards, and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Oversee accounting software / ERP systems and ensure accurate financial data management.
• Support senior management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Lead and supervise the finance and accounting team.

Mandatory Requirements

• More than 15 years of accounting experience.
• Mandatory experience in contracting / construction companies.
• Strong focus on financial reporting and MIS reporting.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting software / ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of project accounting and cost control.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA / ACCA / CPA / CMA preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Good knowledge of UAE VAT and IFRS.
