Role Overview

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will set the firm’s marketing vision and translate it into measurable outcomes. This executive role leads strategy, brand, demand generation, and client experience while guiding a high-performing internal team and top-tier agency partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set Strategy & KPIs: Build a data-driven marketing plan aligned to firm growth goals; define OKRs and own performance across the funnel (awareness → intake → signed cases).
  • Brand & Reputation: Advance thought leadership, PR, speaking, awards, and community presence; oversee crisis/reputation management and consistent brand standards.
  • Demand Generation: Own multi-channel lead gen (SEO/SEM, paid media, social, email, partnerships); optimize conversion and intake quality with rigorous testing and analytics.
  • Digital Excellence: Direct SEO, SEM, paid social, web, and analytics programs (GA4, GSC, Tag Manager, dashboards) to grow qualified inquiries and share of voice.
  • Content Leadership: Produce impactful blogs, webinars, videos, case stories, and attorney bios that position our lawyers as trusted experts.
  • Client Experience & Referrals: Implement feedback loops, testimonials, reviews, and referral programs that increase loyalty and word-of-mouth.
  • Team & Partners: Recruit, mentor, and scale an in-house team; select and manage agencies with clear scopes, SLAs, and ROI accountability.
  • Budget & Operations: Own the marketing budget, forecasting, and ROI; implement modern MarTech (e.g., HubSpot/Salesforce, marketing automation, BI dashboards).
  • Market Intelligence: Track competitors, channels, and industry trends to inform strategy and keep the firm ahead.
  • Compliance: Ensure all marketing adheres to legal advertising and ethics rules for law firms.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven leadership in marketing for a law firm or professional services organization.
  • Strategic thinker who can drive execution and scale results across channels.
  • Deep expertise in digital marketing (SEO, SEM, paid media, analytics, CRO).
  • Executive-level communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
  • Growth mindset—resilient, innovative, results-oriented.
  • Experience managing in-house teams and agency/vendor portfolios.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required.
  • 10+ years in senior marketing leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success building/scaling teams, programs, and brand impact.

Pay: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
