Chief Operating Officer (OTA background)

Egybell is hiring Chief Operating Officer for a leading Travel agency in El Mohandessin


Job Purpose:

To lead and manage all operational activities of the company to ensure efficiency, drive strategic growth, and enhance the quality of services provided through electronic booking platforms. The COO contributes to the development and execution of operational plans that support the company's expansion goals and deliver excellence in customer experience.


1. Strategic Leadership & Execution:

Direct Reports: Heads of Operations, Technology, Product Development, Supply Chain/Contracting, Customer Service, Quality & Training

- Partner with the CEO and the C-suite to develop and execute strategic plans and budgets.

- Translate vision into operational strategy with measurable goals.

- Lead and inspire senior operational leadership, fostering accountability and excellence.

- Represent the company with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.

2. Global Operations Management:

- Provide centralized oversight across UAE, Egypt, Malaysia, and KSA.

- Ensure flawless execution of services including leisure, corporate, and MICE. - Develop standardized SOPs across regions.

- Act as escalation point for major operational issues, ensuring 24/7 readiness.

3. Technology & Digital Transformation:

- Oversee CTO and technology roadmap (booking engines, CRM, ERP).

- Drive digital transformation to automate processes and improve analytics.

- Leverage data-driven insights for efficiency and trend prediction.

4. Commercial & Supply Chain Oversight:

- Collaborate with Head of Contracting on procurement strategy.

- Ensure product portfolio remains competitive and profitable.

- Monitor KPIs like margins, resource utilization, and on-time performance.

5. Customer Excellence & Quality Assurance:

- Promote a customer-centric culture.

- Oversee customer service for world-class satisfaction.

- Implement QA and training frameworks for continuous improvement.

6. Growth & Scalability:

- Build infrastructure to support growth, including M&A.

- Identify operational synergies across geographies.

- Drive projects for market entry and new service

Qualifications & Experience:

- 15+ years of senior leadership experience, with 8–10 years in executive operational roles within travel,

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Tourism, or a related field (MBA preferred).

- Deep understanding of OTA/DMC models (B2B/B2C, MICE, ground handling).

- Proven ability to manage large-scale, multi-site, international operations with P&L responsibility.

- Strong technology and digital transformation acumen.

- Exemplary leadership, team-building, and strategic growth experience. -

High-level financial literacy (budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis).

· Deep knowledge of electronic booking technologies and digital travel platforms.

· Strong leadership, strategic management, and analytical thinking skills.

· Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and achieving objectives in a dynamic work environment.

· Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.

· Strong strategic decision-making abilities.

· Ability to lead change and motivate teams.

· Innovative thinking in service development and performance enhancement.

· Effective crisis management and problem-solving for complex issues.
