The company's products are deeply integrated with many of the industry's largest operators and support mission-critical workflows including auctions, access management, and remote facility operations.

The Opportunity

OpenTech is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to lead the evolution of our technology platforms and engineering organization. This executive will play a central role in advancing architecture, strengthening engineering execution, and embedding AI-driven innovation across the company.

The CTO will oversee engineering, QA, and technical support while driving improvements in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity maturity, and development practices. This role will also support technology evaluation, M&A diligence, and integration of acquired platforms.

Our technology portfolio includes:

• StorageTreasures and IBid4Storage – market‑leading online auction marketplaces
• IoE Platform (CIA Access Control, SmartLock, SmartMotion) – hardware-enabled SaaS offerings
• INSOMNIAC Kiosk – full service automation for processing in-person rentals and payments

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technology strategy and platform roadmap execution.
• Modernize engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps discipline.
• Improve development velocity, release cadence, and engineering productivity.
• Strengthen scalability, resiliency, and observability across AWS infrastructure.
• Optimize cloud performance and cost management across multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
• Drive architecture modernization including API strategy and modular services.
• Strengthen integration between software platforms and hardware-enabled products.
• Define and execute a data and AI strategy tied to business growth and operational efficiency.
• Build and mentor a high-performing engineering organization.
• Partner with the CEO and leadership team on technology strategy and investment decisions.
• Support technology diligence and integration for acquisitions.

Ideal Candidate

• 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and technology leadership.
• Experience leading engineering teams within SaaS or hardware-enabled SaaS environments.
• Proven success modernizing development processes and scaling cloud-native platforms.
• Deep understanding of cloud architecture (AWS preferred).
• Strong background in DevOps, CI/CD, and engineering automation.
• Experience leading cybersecurity and infrastructure maturity initiatives.
• Strong understanding of data architecture and AI strategy.
• Builder mindset with strong operational discipline and ability to operate both strategically and hands-on.
