The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be responsible for defining and executing the company’s technology vision, ensuring the development of scalable ecommerce platforms, and driving digital innovation. This role requires strong technical leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on experience in modern ecommerce technologies. The CTO will work closely with cross-functional teams—Product, Operations, Marketing, Finance—to ensure technology enables business growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Strategy & Leadership

Develop and implement the overall technology strategy aligned with business goals.
- Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance ecommerce systems.
- Identify and adopt emerging technologies to enhance digital experience and operational efficiency.
- Oversee end-to-end architecture, infrastructure, DevOps, and data systems.
2. Product & Platform Development

Lead the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of company’s ecommerce platforms, mobile apps, and backend systems.
- Ensure seamless integration across payment gateways, logistics APIs, inventory systems, CRM, ERP, and marketing tools.
- Drive user experience (UX/UI) enhancements to improve customer journey and conversion rates.
3. Team Management

Build, manage, and mentor high-performing engineering, DevOps, QA, and data teams.
- Set coding standards, development practices, and review processes.
- Ensure an agile development environment with timely delivery of sprint commitments.
4. Security, Compliance & Infrastructure

Ensure system reliability, uptime, and performance through strong DevOps/SRE practices.
- Oversee cybersecurity, data privacy, compliance, and risk management.
- Implement cloud architecture strategies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and optimize costs.
5. Data & Analytics

Develop data strategy for business intelligence, personalization, reporting, and predictive analytics.
- Ensure high-quality data governance across all systems.
- Leverage data to support decision-making, demand forecasting, and customer behavior insights.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with product, operations, supply chain, and marketing teams to enable business initiatives.
- Provide technology insights for business planning, budgeting, and growth strategies.
- Present technology roadmap and updates to the President and senior leadership.
Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, preferably in e-commerce.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), micro services, and API architecture.
- Expertise in cybersecurity, DevOps, and agile methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills
Preferred Skills

Experience with AI/ML for personalization or recommendation engines.
- Experience of ERP/CRM integrations such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle.
- Prior experience in startup or high-growth ecommerce environments.
- Ability to scale systems for high traffic, peak sales (e.g., Black Friday, 11.11).
