Youth Respite Care Provider Needed for Active Sibling Boys
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and patient caregiver to provide respite support for two active siblings in their home. This role focuses on maintaining safety, encouraging positive interactions, and providing structured support in a dynamic environment.
The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, confident in setting boundaries, and skilled at guiding children through conflict in a supportive and constructive way.
Location: Eau Claire (Child's Residence)
Schedule:
- Approximately 40 hours per month supporting both children
(Primarily weekends and after-school hours)
- Approximately 5 hours per week providing occasional one-on-one support
- Schedule planned in advance with the managing party (flexibility required)
Compensation: $16.00/Hour
Key Responsibilities
- Provide active supervision to ensure safety and well-being
- Plan and facilitate engaging, structured activities
- Support positive sibling interactions and healthy communication
- De-escalate conflicts using calm, proactive strategies
- Offer emotional support, encouragement, and clear guidance
- Communicate regularly with the family regarding behaviors, progress, and incidents
- Assist with light household tasks related to care (meal prep, tidying activity areas)
Qualifications
- Experience in childcare, respite care, or supporting children with behavioral needs preferred
- Ability to manage high-energy situations with patience and consistency
- Strong communication, boundary-setting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build trust with both children and caregivers
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, dependable, and committed to providing quality care
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license/Reliable vehicle/Auto insurance
- Comfortable having care within the child's home
- Ability to engage in active play and remain attentive during physical activities
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to Pass a Caregiver/Criminal Background Check
