JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision from Office Manager and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Child Support Division, handles service of process of court documents at different locations, including homes, businesses, County Jail, Federal Corrections. Run L.E.I.N background checks on child support defendants and new hires.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Essential Duties:



Serve Court Summons to various locations

Run L.E.I.N background checks

Run Various reports

Interview defendants

  • Office Vehicle Maintenance Checks

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



Law enforcement experience, including interviewing and interrogation skills. Ability to observe and capture details.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Valid Michigan Driver's license

The following need to be completed upon hiring:



Law Enforcement Information Network (L.E.I.N.) Certification

Criminal Justice Information Service Security and Privacy Training and Certification

  • Child Support Division Confidentiality and Security Training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Duties require driving to different locations and walking to addresses to serve clients with papers.

Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person or over the telephone.

These requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodations.

EDUCATION

Two (2) years of college preferred with some courses in criminal justice.

EXPERIENCE

One (1) year of demonstrated satisfactory experience in dealing with the public in difficult situations.

Law Enforcement experience desired.
