CIRCULATION ASSISTANT RPT

In this role you will:

• Perform circulation functions, including checking items in and out and processing daily deliveries.
• Process Library cards and payments for customers.
• Assist customers in both face-to-face and telephone interactions.
• Provide assistance to customers with Library equipment.
• Assist with other library-related projects.

You will need to be:

• Friendly, patient, and comfortable assisting customers from varying cultural and economic backgrounds.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work with competing tasks and priorities.
• Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to questions from customers and staff.
• Flexible, positive, and willing to work with staff and colleagues to successfully overcome challenges.

You will need to have:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with previous customer service experience.
• Strong communication and organization skills.

• Google Workspace experience (Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail)

Hours for this position are:

Mondays 11:30-8:15, Tuesdays-Thursdays 9:30-6:15, alternating Fridays & Saturdays 9:00-5:15. Some Sundays. Hours subject to change.

• Creative Experience, a digital makerspace with 3D printers, large-format printing, a recording room, virtual reality and more, was added in 2020

About the neighborhood:

Barr is part of the Gate District East neighborhood, a neighborhood situated near Jefferson and Highway 44. A vibrant, diverse neighborhood, the Gate District is experiencing growth and new construction, including a farm-to-table restaurant just down the block. Barr is also centrally located to the Lafayette Square, Fox Park, and McKinley Heights neighborhoods.
