Civil Chargehand

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Civil Chargehand to join our project team in Doha. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily civil works activities on-site, ensuring that projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage a team of workers effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, direct, and motivate site workers and subcontractors to ensure efficient execution of civil works.
• Ensure all work is carried out in strict accordance with project specifications, drawings, and safety regulations (HSEQ).
• Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications to guide site operations.
• Monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep the project on track.
• Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality control and identify any deficiencies.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and resource allocation.
• Manage and optimize the use of materials, equipment, and manpower on-site.
• Implement and enforce company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Prepare daily progress reports, material requisitions, and other necessary site documentation.
• Train and mentor junior staff and laborers on best practices and safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot and resolve on-site operational problems promptly.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience as a Civil Chargehand in the construction industry.
• Mandatory experience within the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region.
• Must be currently residing in Doha, Qatar.
• Possession of a valid Qatari Residence Permit with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is essential.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive attitude towards safety and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions on-site.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certification in civil construction is a plus.
