Civil Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer with foundational experience in marine and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will support senior staff in the planning, design, and on-site execution of marine civil works, with opportunities for professional growth and skill development within a dynamic construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:1. Site Engineering & Support:

  • Assist in the supervision of on-site marine construction activities, including port structures, coastal protection, and dredging works.
  • Support site inspections, monitor work progress, and report on daily site activities to the Senior Engineer/Project Manager.
  • Help ensure all construction complies with design drawings, specifications, and safety standards.

2. Technical & Design Assistance:

  • Assist in the preparation and review of technical drawings, calculations, and material submittals under supervision.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations and contribute to design development for marine structures, foundations, and earthworks.
  • Use engineering software to support design tasks and project documentation.

3. Planning & Coordination Support:

  • Assist in developing project schedules and tracking progress against milestones.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to support smooth project execution.
  • Help prepare project documentation, including method statements, inspection reports, and progress updates.

4. Quality & Compliance:

  • Support the implementation of QA/QC plans on site.
  • Assist in material testing and site quality inspections.
  • Help ensure adherence to international and local standards and regulations.

5. Reporting & Communication:

  • Prepare daily and weekly site reports under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Communicate effectively with site teams, engineers, and project stakeholders.
  • Participate in site meetings and contribute to project discussions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in civil engineering, with exposure to marine, infrastructure, or heavy civil projects.
  • Basic understanding of marine construction methods, dredging, piling, or coastal structures.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within marine civil engineering.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD; familiarity with Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, or project scheduling tools is a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on-site in a marine construction environment.
  • Willingness to follow safety protocols and procedures.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are beneficial.
