Job Title: Civil Engineer (PTW – Permit to Work)

Job Summary
The Civil Engineer (PTW) is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supervising civil works activities under the Permit to Work (PTW) system. The role ensures that all construction and maintenance activities comply with Qatar regulations, project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. The engineer acts as a liaison between site teams, HSE departments, and permit authorities to ensure safe and efficient execution of works.
Key Responsibilities1. Permit to Work (PTW) Coordination
- Apply for, track, and manage all required work permits from relevant authorities (e.g., Ashghal, Kahramaa, local municipalities).
- Ensure all activities are executed strictly under approved permits.
- Coordinate with safety officers and HSE teams to ensure compliance with PTW procedures.
- Conduct pre-work site inspections before permit issuance.
2. Site Supervision & Execution
- Supervise civil works such as excavation, concreting, drainage, road works, utilities, and structural works.
- Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Monitor subcontractors’ performance and compliance with project standards.
- Maintain daily site reports and progress documentation.
3. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and local regulations.
- Implement risk assessments and ensure toolbox talks are conducted.
- Coordinate with HSE officers to prevent accidents and ensure safe working conditions.
- Stop unsafe work activities if required.
4. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and government authorities.
- Attend progress meetings and safety meetings.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, utilities).
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records of permits, approvals, inspection reports, and site instructions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Assist in preparing method statements, ITPs, and risk assessments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 3–8 years of experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working under PTW systems in Qatar (mandatory).
- Good knowledge of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS).
- Strong understanding of HSE standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Valid QID and transferable visa preferred.
