Civil Engineer Tender Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, project specifications, and drawings to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Develop cost splits/breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and overheads.
• Prepare and analyze Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for tenders and contracts.
• Collaborate with design, procurement, and finance teams to ensure cost accuracy.
• Identify cost risks and value engineering opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and tender requirements.
• Assist in bid preparation and submission within deadlines.
• Track and update cost databases for materials, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Provide post-tender clarifications and support during negotiations.
• Support project managers in cost monitoring and reporting during execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Proven experience (3–7 years) in cost estimation, tendering, and project costing within construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry pricing.
• Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Candy, CCS, Primavera, AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel).
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, tendering procedures, and local regulations is a plus.
