Job Responsibilities for Civil Engineer (Infrastructure)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a minimum of 10 to 15 years in civil infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate must possess a valid CAT A or B CRPEP license and have extensive experience in various civil engineering works related to infrastructure development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Oversee and manage infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Construction Supervision:
- Supervise construction activities related to open trench works, sheet piling, excavation, and dewatering operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all construction activities.
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance on the laying of pipelines, sewerage, and stormwater lines, ensuring proper installation and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct inspections and quality control assessments on materials and construction methods used in infrastructure projects.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all infrastructure projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation for permits and approvals.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and materials.
- Monitor project costs and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines and project teams to ensure integrated planning and execution of infrastructure projects.
- Facilitate communication between different departments and stakeholders to resolve issues and achieve project objectives.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular project reports, including progress updates, risk assessments, and financial summaries for senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design calculations, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
- Mentorship and Training:
- Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements, sharing knowledge with the team.
- Emergency Response Planning:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans related to infrastructure failures or natural disasters, ensuring safety and risk management measures are in place.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 -15 years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure engineering.
- Valid CAT A or B CRPEP license is mandatory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
