As the Classification and Compensation Analyst you will ensure process and procedures in classification and compensation practices throughout the agency, to include ensuring full documentation related to allocation actions and collaboration with the Data and Systems Team is consistent. Although much of your day will be spent working independently as you propose and draft classification reviews and reallocations, your ability to communicate effectively across all levels of leadership will be key as you will provide guidance and consultation to supervisors, managers, and executives when establishing, reallocating, or updating positions to ensure consistency and alignment within divisions and across the agency.
Some of what you will do:
Provide interpretation and explanation of applicable state and federal employment laws, civil service rules, collective bargaining agreements, and agency policies and procedures.
Review position changes for impacts to benefits and works with Payroll to determine eligibility and process for employee.
Review and make decisions on employee-initiated Position Review Requests (PRR) and conduct desk audits as needed.
Assist the agency’s Information Technology Professional Structure (ITPS) Coordinator, leading the review of positions in ITPS.
Provide classification and compensation analytics to DOL leadership.
Four (4) years of experience as an HR Consultant 2 with a Washington State Agency.
