JOB LOCATION : Wound Healing Center

DEPARTMENT: WOUND HEALING CTR


SCHEDULE:
Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift,

POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent shall be responsible for providing a full range of services as a liaison between the patient, physicians, insurance companies, physician offices and SGMC Health Wound Care. Will verify insurance/pre-certifications and facilitate accurate and timely payment collection, completion and submission of all data and paperwork associated with the SGMC Wound Care financial and administrative processes. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, and problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion. Supports and communicates SGMC Health mission, vision, values and goals. Other duties as assigned including maintenance of daily schedule.

EDUCATION

  • College-level degree in Informatics, or other financial/health care related field or equivalent there of preferred.
EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum (3) years prior administrative experience, preferably in a hospital or other medical setting
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must have good computer skills and a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest and willingness to work in a health care setting with a working knowledge of adults, geriatric, and patients with physical disabilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of PC and Windows literacy required.
  • General knowledge of insurance and managed care required.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to interact with patients/families with consideration to their age, religion, cultural background, developmental level and emotional status.
  • Requires flexibility in work schedule for accountability expectations for operations and process management in a customer focused business.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION

Comfortable setting indoors, schedule may include working weekends and holidays. May be necessary to go offsite for drug screen collections. May be subjected to high levels of stress. May be at risk to exposure to blood and body fluids. Must have ability to sit, stand, or walk for moderate periods. Moderate heavy lifting may be required (0-25 lbs), reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting.
