Clinic Support Assistant

  • Prepare and organize clinical areas (inclusive of waiting areas) for patient presence, consultations and procedures.

  • Provide non-interventional assistance to licensed healthcare professionals during medical examinations and treatments (e.g. chaperoning, consumable/room preparation and turn around)

  • When trained and competent, perform basic patient care tasks, such as helping with mobility, bed making and personal hygiene, all at the instruction and supervision of the licensed healthcare professional.

  • When trained and competent, ensure medical equipment is sterilized and cleaned and ready for use according to NMC Policy.

  • Manage patient records, updating information and ensuring confidentiality and data protection.

  • Schedule patient appointments and handle admissions/discharges, inclusive of follow up discharge phone calls

  • Monitor inventory of medical supplies and restock as needed.

  • Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and families when required and following the instruction of the healthcare professional.

  • Adhere to all safety, health, and infection control procedures.

  • Speak up, if something isn't right.

  • Maintain awareness of and comply with, the NMC Policies and Procedures

  • Participate in all activities related to DOH/DHA/MOH/MOHAP and NMC Quality Improvement when required

  • Understand Uphold the regulatory and accreditation standards and which of them apply to their daily working practice

  • Support in the escort of patients within and between departments

  • Transport patient specimens in accordance to NMC Policy.

  • Strictly adhere to the regulator Scope of Practice.

  • Escalate and raise concerns using the incident reporting system.

Infection Prevention and Control (IPC):

  • IPC is everyone’s responsibility. All staff are required to read and implement the NMC IPC Policy and Strategy in an effort to maintain the highest possible standards of cleanliness at all times, thus reducing the risk of infection in patients, staff and visitors.

  • The strictest hand hygiene compliance encompassing, 5 moments of hand hygiene, bare below the elbows and environmental care, will be expected of all staff, including the post holder, at all times.

Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (OSHMS) Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities:

  • Comply with OSHMS instructions, policies and safe working procedures

  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.

  • Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures

  • Not wilfully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safety

  • Assist with the preparation of risk assessments

  • Report OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues

  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycling of waste as much as possible

  • Attend all OSH Trainings, awareness programs and mock drills.

  • Participates in the OSHMS audits, inspections, ensuring standards are maintained

Abu Dhabi Healthcare Information and Cyber Security (ADHICS) Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to information systems policies and procedures as the Health Care Organization requires.

  • Ensure that documentation in the health record reflects accuracy, integrity and authenticity.

  • Follow security and privacy policies and procedures when using networks, including intranet and Internet.

  • Follow confidentiality and security measures to protect electronic health information.

  • Maintain data integrity and validity within an information system.

  • Report any possible breaches of confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies.

  • Apply departmental and organizational data and information system security policies

  • Use basic word processing, spreadsheet, and desktop presentation applications as applicable to your work.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the Windows operating environment.

  • Demonstrate use of email, addressing, forwarding, attachments, netiquette.

Business Continuity Management Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities:

  • Achieving an adequate level of general awareness regarding business continuity.

  • Being aware of the contents of their service areas disaster recovery plan and any specific role or responsibilities allocated.

  • Participating actively in the business continuity programme when required

Education and Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some employers may require additional certification or training)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and healthcare practices.

  • Ability to use medical equipment and understand safety protocols.

  • Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare staff.

  • Organizational skills for managing records and scheduling appointments.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow clinical instructions accurately.

  • Basic IT skills for handling medical software and patient databases.

  • Physical stamina for assisting with patient care and clinical tasks.

Experience

1 year experience in relevant role of healthcare experience in UAE will be an advantage
