The position
Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) — a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization — is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented professional for the position of Clinical Coordinator for its Karachi Region.
Position Summary:
The Clinical Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all AKHS, P health facilities in Sindh province deliver high-quality, standardized, and patient-centered care. The position focuses on implementing clinical protocols, supporting staff capacity building, achieving regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
The incumbent will work closely with nursing and medical staff, quality assurance teams, and management to align daily clinical practices with AKHS’s quality and safety standards while supporting the organization’s commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Elevate Quality: Transform community health centers into models of safe, patient-centered, and reliable care.
Standardize Practices: Keep clinical and nursing protocols updated, practical, and aligned with national and international best practices.
Capacity Building: Lead and facilitate technical training, mentorship, and coaching programs to strengthen clinical skills, decision-making, and teamwork.
Certification & Compliance:
Ensure all facilities maintain compliance with AKHS standards and local regulatory/licensing requirements.
Lead and coordinate certification or accreditation efforts across sites.
Patient Feedback & Experience: Design and oversee systems to capture, analyze, and act on patient feedback, ensuring prompt resolution of complaints and continuous service improvement.
Monitoring & Audits: Lead clinical audits, root-cause analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with nurses, consulting doctors, and leadership teams.
Key Milestones in the First Six Months
Clinical guidelines are updated and implemented across all sites within six months.
Nursing and doctor teams feel confident, supported, and empowered to deliver excellent care.
Patient feedback systems are functional and responsive.
Clinics are on track for or have achieved certification milestones.
Facilities maintain full compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements.
A data-driven culture of continuous quality improvement is embedded across the region.
Clear steps are underway toward reducing environmental impact.
The requirements
Qualification & Experience
BScN or MScN.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in clinical coordination, quality improvement, or healthcare operations.
Passionate about clinical excellence, patient safety, and quality standards.
Ability to translate clinical guidelines into action through coaching and supervision of nurses and consulting doctors.
Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and licensing requirements within Sindh.
Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
Analytical, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Demonstrates integrity, empathy, and precision in decision-making and operations.
