Clinical Informatics Assistant

Job Overview
This position provides administrative, technical, and operational support to the Clinical Informatics Director in managing and optimizing the organization’s electronic medical record (EMR) system. This role supports system implementation, maintenance, compliance, reporting, and coordination between clinical, administrative, and IT teams.

Duties

  • EMR System Support
  • Assist with EMR system configuration, updates, and optimization.
  • Support system testing during upgrades and new feature implementations.
  • Monitor system performance and report issues to IT or vendors.
  • Help manage user access, permissions, and security settings.
  • Training & User Support
  • Coordinate EMR training for new and existing staff.
  • Assist in developing training materials and user guides.
  • Provide first-level support to clinical and administrative staff.
  • Track user feedback and improvement requests.
  • Compliance & Data Management
  • Support compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
  • Assist in auditing documentation and data accuracy.
  • Generate reports for leadership, regulatory bodies, and quality initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security standards.
  • Project Coordination
  • Assist with EMR implementation projects and system enhancements.
  • Liaise between departments (clinical, billing, IT, administration).
  • Track project milestones and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum (1-3) one to three years’ experience in healthcare administration, Health IT, or electronic medical record systems
  • Experience working with electronic medical record platforms including but not limited to: Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts, eCW.
  • Experience working in a federally qualified health center environment preferred
  • Work requires traveling to various community sites and agencies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
