Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Biostatistics is seeking several Clinical Research Coordinators to join our team working on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) sponsored RECOVER project, an initiative to understand, prevent, and treat the long-term complications of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Mass General Brigham (MGB) is partnering with the NIH to launch the RECOVER Data Resource Core (DRC), which will contribute to the collection, harmonization, and quality assurance of data collected on study participants, including so-called COVID-19 “long-haulers,” throughout the nation. This team will operate under a Principal Investigator based at MGH. We are looking for a well-organized, dynamic, and highly motivated Clinical Research Coordinator to join MGH Biostatistics to support conduct of the Data Coordinating Center functions of the RECOVER project. The Clinical Research Coordinator will report to the Project Manager and will work closely with biostatisticians, data managers, and study staff to support study operations, data collection and quality control, and reporting of research findings. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced research environment are required.
Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Participate in all phases of research projects, from conception and design of studies through proofing manuscripts for submission to academic journals
- Monitor study activities for compliance with all applicable regulations and facilitate trainings for study personnel as needed
- Partner with collaborators and study staff across sites on oversight of studies, standard operating procedure development and review, and data quality assurance
- Assist in preparation of posters and slides for presentation at research conferences
- Support preparation progress reports, applications, and related documents
- Organize group meetings, including setting up conference calls and taking minutes

Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.

Essential Functions
- Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verify all sponsor requirements are met.
- Recruiting patients for clinical trials, conducts phone interviews.
- Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
- Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
- Documents patient visits and procedures.
- Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
- Assists with interviewing study subjects.
- Assists with study regulator submissions.
Education
Bachelor's Degree Science required
Experience
Some relevant research project work 0-1 year preferred
