Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to join the HyperNym team. You will be responsible for provisioning and managing our Azure environments, handling Microsoft 365 email administration, deploying and operating Kubernetes clusters on AKS, and maintaining Linux-based workloads. This is a critical role supporting our enterprise IoT platform, Iotility, and its global client base.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Infrastructure

• Provision and manage Azure subscriptions, tenants, and resource groups

• Configure Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), RBAC, and identity management

• Deploy and maintain Azure services including VMs, VNets, storage, and App Services

• Manage Azure Cost Management and optimise cloud spend

• Implement Azure security policies, firewalls, and compliance controls

Microsoft 365 & Email Administration

• Create and manage Microsoft 365 tenants from scratch

• Administer Exchange Online, Outlook, and email routing

• Manage user accounts, licences, groups, and Teams configuration

• Configure DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) for email deliverability

• Handle M365 security and compliance settings

Kubernetes & AKS

• Deploy and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters

• Write and maintain Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests (Deployments, Services, Ingress, HPA)

• Configure cluster networking, namespaces, and RBAC

• Implement monitoring and logging using Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor

• Manage container images and pipelines via Azure Container Registry (ACR)

• Perform cluster upgrades, node pool scaling, and cost optimisation

Linux Administration

• Manage and harden Ubuntu/CentOS servers in cloud and on-premise environments

• Write shell scripts and automate operational tasks with Bash or Python

• Troubleshoot system performance, networking, and service issues

• Manage Docker and container runtimes on Linux hosts

• Maintain SSH access controls, firewall rules (UFW/iptables), and system logs

DevOps & CI/CD

• Set up and maintain Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions pipelines

• Support infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or Bicep

• Collaborate with development teams on deployment strategies and environment management

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure

• Proven experience creating and managing Azure tenants and subscriptions

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams)

• Solid Kubernetes experience, preferably on AKS in a production environment

• Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu preferred) — command line, scripting, troubleshooting

• Familiarity with Docker and containerisation workflows

• Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, load balancing)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions)

Nice to Have

• Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AKS-specific)

• Experience with Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure-as-code

• Familiarity with IoT platforms, MQTT, or telemetry data pipelines

• Exposure to multi-region or multi-tenant SaaS deployments

• Experience supporting enterprise or telecoms clients
