CNC Machine Shop Estimator

The Role

Three M Tool & Machine is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. We operate in a high-mix, low-volume environment where accuracy and technical depth are critical. You will be responsible for processing a wide variety of precision machined products, managing the details of multiple projects simultaneously for a diverse customer base.

Responsibilities

• Technical Estimating: Design processes and calculate costs for new and repeat work. This includes reviewing blueprints, researching product history, and designing or assessing manufacturing processes.
• Process Design: Formulate workflows that account for machining, assembly, quality requirements, outside processes and engineering specs.
• System: Utilize Global Shop ERP software to calculate pricing and maintain organized communication channels and workflows.
• Coordination: Work with the sales department to ensure quotes align with company strategy. Consult with clients, vendors, and internally to resolve technical issues or refine estimates.
• Optimization: Evaluate and improve existing systems to ensure efficient handling of customer requirements and internal workflow.

Technical Requirements

• Machining Expertise: In-depth knowledge of precision manufacturing principles and how processes work both on paper and on the shop floor.
• Print Reading: Advanced ability to interpret complex technical drawings and material requirements.
• Analytical Skills: Strong math and critical thinking skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Communication: Ability to provide clear technical feedback to both internal teams and external vendors/clients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAM software.
• Prior experience in a job-shop or high-mix manufacturing environment.
• Experience with full-featured ERP systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
