Job Purpose:
To operate and maintain CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to safety and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (lathe, milling, or turning centers) to produce parts as per technical drawings and work instructions.
- Review blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications to ensure correct machining operations.
- Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for machining processes.
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure tools are in optimal working condition.
- Adjust machine parameters to improve quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Maintain production documentation, inspection reports, and records of work performed.
- Follow company safety standards and quality procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality inspectors to resolve machining and process issues.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma / Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably in heavy engineering or energy sector (experience in MAN engines or similar is an advantage).
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming (Fanuc / Siemens / Heidenhain controls).
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T symbols.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments and quality inspection tools.
- Ability to perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety consciousness.
