Position OverviewWe are seeking a Coffee Specialist who is more than a barista—someone who embodies passion, curiosity, and mentorship. This role is central to our mission of delivering high-quality, intentional beverages and creating a culture of learning, artistry, and excellence within our team. You will be responsible not only for preparing exceptional coffee and other beverages but also for training and mentoring staff on coffee, maintaining coffee equipment, and enhancing the experience that defines Plant Bar.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft Exceptional Beverages
• Prepare artisanal coffee drinks with precision, care, and attention to detail on our La Marzocco espresso machine.
• Ensure every cup is delicious, visually captivating, and intentionally presented, including latte art as a signature part of the experience.
• Maintain consistency in flavor, texture, and ritual.
• Training & Mentorship
• Train new team members on espresso techniques, latte art, equipment use, general coffee knowledge, and bar workflow.
• Conduct follow-up trainings to refresh skills, introduce new techniques, and ensure ongoing excellence.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, artistry, and collaboration.
• Equipment Care & Maintenance
• Conduct regular maintenance checks on espresso machines and coffee equipment.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and ensure all equipment operates at peak performance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing bar and brewing space.
• Guest Experience & Holistic Approach
• Engage with guests intentionally, asking how they’re feeling and how they want to feel, guiding them toward beverages that honor their unique needs.
• Educate guests on coffee, tea, and herbal ingredients, emphasizing the ritual, artistry, and mindfulness behind each drink.

Qualifications

• Experienced in specialty coffee, with a deep understanding of espresso techniques.
• Skilled in latte art and creating visually stunning beverages.
• Comfortable training and mentoring others.
• Proficient with La Marzocco espresso machines; knowledge of other coffee and tea equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge or interest in herbalism, medicinal coffee, or specialty teas highly valued.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in maintaining equipment and standards.
• Passionate about coffee, hospitality, mindfulness, and the Plant Bar philosophy.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
