We are recruiting for a Commercial & Contracts Manager role with a leading main contractor based in the UAE. Candidates must have prior experience working with main contractors in the Middle East. The role will focus on a twin tower residential project located in Creek Harbour.
Responsibilities
- Provide responses to bids, proposals and contract negotiations.
- Prepare requests for proposals for distribution to vendors.
- Develop a set of standard contracts for the company.
- Analyze all requirements and provisions in contracts, including terms and conditions, to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that contracts are executed in accordance with corporate guidelines.
- Conduct research prior to writing contracts.
- Audit existing contracts and oversee contract modifications.
- Analyze a contract's risk to the business.
- Visit client sites and meet with business partners.
- Monitor the performance of each signed contract.
- Ensure that business goals are accomplished by contract implementation.
- Train and supervise other contract professionals.
- Communicate contract implementations to subordinates.
- Maintain a computer database for the company's contract management system.
- Conduct analysis of new laws, regulations and contract trends to determine potential impact on the business.
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure correct billing and collection of contractual revenues.
- Ensure that contracts are in line with corporate goals and objectives.
- Identify potential improvements to existing policies.
- Prepare reports on the status of contracts for management.
- Conduct special projects as assigned.
- Negotiate and oversee leasing agreements.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, law, or equivalent. Master's degree an advantage.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in the construction industry.
- Strong command of English and proven ability to draft and review contractual documents accurately. Ideally, the candidate will be from the UK with UAE experience in high-rise building.
- Experience in contract preparation and management.
- Possesses a working knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Has knowledge of international contract law and mergers and acquisitions regulations.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
