Commercial Counsel (Remote)

We're seeking a Commercial Counsel (remote) to play a pivotal role for an AI Scale-Up client, in scaling their legal service operations and driving client success for high-growth technology companies in Silicon Valley and across the West Coast. You'll be at the forefront of revolutionizing legal service delivery through AI-powered solutions, working directly with dynamic clients who are reshaping their respective industries.

This is a high-impact, strategic role for an experienced legal professional who thrives at the intersection of law and cutting-edge technology and is energized by the fast-paced startup environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead commercial contract review and negotiation for our high-growth tech clients, ensuring speed, precision, and strategic value delivery
• Serve as primary legal counsel for key client relationships, interpreting complex contract terms and providing strategic guidance on obligations, risks, and business opportunities
• Leverage and optimize our proprietary AI-powered legal technology platform to streamline document review and legal service delivery
• Drive operational excellence by identifying inefficiencies in legal processes and implementing scalable improvements across our service delivery model
• Develop and standardize contract playbooks, templates, and best practices for recurring transaction types in the tech sector
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams to continuously evolve our AI-enhanced legal service platform
• Mentor and guide junior legal professionals and contract specialists as we scale our team

What We're Looking For

• JD and bar admission with 4-12 years of proven experience in commercial contracts, preferably with technology companies, venture-backed startups, or at a top-tier law firm
• Deep expertise in commercial agreements common to high-growth tech companies (SaaS agreements, licensing deals, partnership agreements, etc.)
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills - you catch nuances and potential issues that others miss
• Technology enthusiasm - experience with or strong interest in legal tech, AI tools, and innovation in legal service delivery
• Strategic process mindset - you're constantly thinking about how to optimize workflows for speed, quality, and scalability
• Startup mentality - comfort operating in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous, high-ownership environment where you'll wear multiple hats

Logistics & Working Hours: This role is remote and can be worked from anywhere in the United States, but it will require operating on Pacific Time from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM to align with the West Coast client base and their business needs - please do not apply if this is not something that you can commit to.
