Job Description: Commi – Bakery & PastryPosition
The Commi – Bakery & Pastry is responsible for assisting in the preparation, production, and presentation of bakery and pastry items. The role requires maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring proper hygiene practices, and supporting the pastry team in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of bakery and pastry items such as breads, cakes, pastries, desserts, and dough.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards established by the Pastry Chef.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients to maintain freshness and reduce wastage.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area, equipment, and tools at all times.
- Assist in the baking, decorating, and finishing of cakes, pastries, and other dessert items.
- Support in the preparation of mise-en-place for daily operations.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards as per company and local regulations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or shortages in ingredients to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist in stock control and inventory management when required.
- Work closely with the pastry team to ensure smooth and timely operations during service.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Pastry Chef or management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in bakery or pastry preparation (freshers with training may be considered).
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and dessert presentation.
- Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and standard procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for bakery and pastry production.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
