COMMISSIONING LEAD
Job Purpose: Lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up support for Unit A and Unit B reciprocating compressor replacement, including loop checks, functional testing, oil flushing verification, and 72-hour running test coordination in live refinery environment, ensuring compliance with BH OEM procedures and SABIC commissioning standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop pre-commissioning procedures and sequences for mechanical and E&I systems
- Coordinate loop checking of all control and instrumentation signals per Section 4.2.4
- Lead functional testing of control systems, safety systems, and unit operations
- Verify DCS/MMS integration and signal transmission to control room
- Support oil flushing activities and cleanliness verification to NAS 6/7 standards
- Coordinate no-load and load testing of compressor and electric motor
- Lead 72-hour running test support and performance data recording
- Manage mechanical completion turnover from construction to commissioning
- Coordinate with BH OEM specialists for commissioning procedures
- Interface with SASREF operations for start-up sequencing and process integration
- Lead punch list clearance during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases
- Prepare commissioning documentation and turnover certificates
- Coordinate safety system testing including ESD and trip functions
- Support process gas introduction and leak testing coordination
- Train operations personnel on new equipment functionality
- Manage commissioning schedule and critical path activities
Mandatory Requirements:
- 10+ years commissioning experience with 5+ years in KSA
- Refinery rotating equipment commissioning (SABIC/Aramco)
- Reciprocating compressor commissioning experience
- Loop checking and functional testing expertise
- Oil flushing and cleanliness verification knowledge
- DCS/MMS system integration experience
- H2S and process safety certification
- Transferable Iqama
Preferred:
- SASREF or SABIC refinery commissioning experience
- BH OEM compressor commissioning exposure
- IEC 61508/61511 functional safety certification
- Vibration analysis and performance testing expertise
- Primavera P6 scheduling proficiency
Salary Range: SAR 18,000 – 28,000/month
