PURPOSE:
FormFactor is seeking an experienced Commodity Buyer to join our team in Farmers Branch. This strategic role will be responsible for sourcing and managing high-value goods, services, and capital equipment essential to our manufacturing and operations.
This position will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and facilities teams to ensure cost-efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. This is a high-impact position with a strong focus on supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for purchasing and managing the supply of goods, services, and high-value, long-term assets like specialized equipment essential for sites manufacturing and operations.
  • Strong emphasis on supplier evaluation and negotiation, contract management, and cost analysis to ensure purchases align with budget and operational needs.
  • Develop and execute strategies for acquiring high-value equipment, services and other goods.
  • Lead and support negotiations for price, timing, and deliverables ensuring the best value for the organization.
  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, facilities and other teams to understand specifications, assess technical requirements and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Administer the full purchase order lifecycle including issuing, reconciling and resolving issues with suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance, gather metrics, and resolve disputes to ensure optimal outcomes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 7+ years of experience in Commodity Management, Procurement, Production Planning, or Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field strongly preferred; will also consider equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • APICS certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Strong ERP and procurement software proficiency.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex information, evaluate bids, and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Skills to manage multiple tasks, collaborate with diverse stakeholders and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Understanding of engineering specifications and technical aspects of capital equipment.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both suppliers, internal customers, and senior executives.
  • Ability and drive to negotiate complex agreements and terms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Travel may be required (local, domestic, and international).
