PCB/CCA Buyer - Experienced

Canyon AeroConnect, an operating unit of TransDigm Group in Prescott, AZ for 50 years, is a leading supplier of avionic-standard communications, navigation, and audio systems. Our products serve civilian, paramilitary, and military applications, including Air Ambulance, Law Enforcement, SAR, EMS, Military, and Marine operations. This onsite role in Prescott, AZ involves designing and developing new avionics equipment, including airborne radios, audio control panels, and other systems, as well as sustaining engineering of existing products.


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Printed Circuit Board (PCB), Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Buyer to join our supply chain team. This role is critical in managing the sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relationships for bare PCBs, fully assembled CCAs, and electronic components used in our high-reliability aerospace and avionics products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics procurement, proven negotiation skills, and experience working with both domestic and international suppliers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and qualify PCB, CCA, and electronic component suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Manage procurement activities from RFQ through PO placement, expediting, and delivery follow-up.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to achieve cost savings and long-term supplier partnerships.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to align supplier capabilities with program requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery/quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with both fabrication houses (PCB), assembly providers (CCA), and authorized component distributors/OEMs.
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards, AS9100, ITAR, and aerospace/defense quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP/MRP systems (Oracle).
  • Stay informed on industry trends, component obsolescence risks, long lead times, allocation issues, and supply chain disruptions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in PCB, CCA, and electronic component procurement (aerospace/defense preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of PCB fabrication processes, CCA assembly practices, and component-level sourcing.
  • Familiarity with electronic component lifecycle management (obsolescence, alternates, authorized distribution).
  • Proven track record of supplier negotiations and achieving measurable cost reductions.
  • Experience with domestic and international suppliers, including managing offshore manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
