Job Summary: The Communications Coordinator supports the development and execution of the SCGA’s communications and marketing initiatives, playing a key role in ensuring content aligns with the organization’s messaging and branding standards. The role is responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing content across various platforms to support the organization’s communications strategy. The Communications Coordinator will produce engaging, accurate, and brand-aligned content for digital and print channels while collaborating with internal teams to ensure consistency and quality across all communications.
The Communications Coordinator also acts as the liaison between the Championships & Golf Operations and Communications & Marketing departments, ensuring integration of efforts across the Association’s communication strategies.
What You’ll Do:
Content Creation and Management:

Develop and manage content for the SCGA’s website, newsletters, social media, and other digital platforms, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and branding standards.

Oversee the daily homepage content and site-wide updates on scga.org.

Write and edit articles for FORE magazine and scga.org as needed, supporting content creation and production.

Manage the communications calendar, builds and sends for SCGA’s e-communications, including newsletters, special events, and digital advertising.

Maintain a consistent brand voice across all communication channels.

Analyze website analytics for scga.org, preparing bi-weekly reports to assess engagement and effectiveness.

Interface with vendors to produce and distribute FORE magazine and other printed materials.

Work closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure advertising and/or promotional content is placed in various communication vehicles as needed.

Coordinate and maintain the schedule of Communications & Marketing’s various check-ins with other departments.
Championships & Golf Operations Support:

Lead the communication efforts for Championships & Golf Operations, specifically as it pertains to onsite, hybrid, and remote coverage in the event field.

Work in close collaboration with Championships & Golf Operations to develop and execute communication schedules for event promotions/registrations and tiered coverage plans.

Work with your direct supervisor(s) to effectively balance your support of Championships & Golf Operations with the recurring and fluid needs of Communications & Marketing, ensuring that your schedule meets the priorities of both departments.

Manage a list of photographers/videographers, assigning their coverage in advance, providing shot-sheets for clarity and expectations regarding deliverables and deadlines, and managing their invoices for services rendered.

Schedule a weekly check-in with a Championships & Golf Operations representative to ensure both departments are aligned on short-term and long-term needs.

Assist in video or photo production for key initiatives and provide media support at SCGA championships.
What You’ll Need:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or English, or equivalent education and experience in communications and marketing.

At least 2 years of experience in content creation or communications, preferably in a related industry (golf, sports or non-profit).
