Communications Intern

Position Overview

Davey is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and creative intern to join its corporate communications department for a consecutive two semester internship. This is an in-person internship in the Kent, Ohio area. This position will work on Davey's internal communications platform, DaveyConnect. Attention to detail and being self-driven are a must. The intern will gain skills with a dynamic internal content management system, writing clear and concise messages for various internal audiences, and creating and packaging content in a visually interesting manner.

The ideal candidate will work full-time (4 days a week) during the summer and part-time during the fall school semester with a potential option to renew for the spring semester.

Job Duties

• Write and format content based on information from internal groups.
• Update and refresh visual content in recurring campaigns.
• Brainstorm ideas for new, engaging campaigns.
• Assist with monitoring activity and comments on the platform.
• Support data collection and documentation of previous campaigns.
• Other projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Writing and creating professional internal or external digital content.
• Previous experience working with a content management system.
• Familiarity with Canva or design creation is a plus.
• Has excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Is pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related majors.
• Is willing to lend a hand on projects outside of their scope of work.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
