Position Summary

Powers & Sons Construction is seeking a dynamic Communications Manager to join our marketing team and drive our company's communication strategy across all channels. This role is integral to enhancing our brand presence, supporting business development initiatives, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the community. The successful candidate will manage social media platforms, assist with proposal development, and execute comprehensive communication strategies that showcase our construction expertise and company values.


Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Digital Communications

Develop and execute social media strategy across LinkedIn and other relevant platforms

Create engaging content showcasing project progress, company culture, and industry expertise

Monitor online reputation and respond to comments, reviews, and inquiries in a timely manner

Manage company website content and ensure information is current and compelling

Coordinate photography and videography of construction projects for marketing materials


Marketing Support & Proposal Development

Assist Marketing Manager with proposal writing, editing, and formatting

Develop compelling case studies and project testimonials

Create marketing collateral including brochures, presentations, and capability statements

Support trade show preparation and event marketing initiatives

Maintain marketing database and project portfolio documentation


Strategic Communications

Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies

Write and distribute press releases, newsletters, and company announcements

Manage crisis communication protocols and messaging

Coordinate with project managers to gather project updates and success stories

Support client relationship management through strategic communications


Brand Management & Content Creation

Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels

Create written content for various audiences including clients, employees, and industry partners

Develop thought leadership content positioning company executives as industry experts

Manage vendor relationships with graphic designers, photographers, and other creative professionals


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field

3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related role

Previous experience in construction, engineering, or B2B industries preferred

Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms for business purposes


Skills & Competencies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) or similar design software

Strong project management abilities with attention to detail

Ability to translate technical construction concepts into accessible content

Professional photography and basic video editing skills preferred

Knowledge of content management systems and email marketing platforms

Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced construction environment

Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills

Understanding of construction industry terminology and processes preferred


Working Conditions

Office-based position with occasional visits to construction sites and regional offices

Standard business hours with flexibility for project deadlines and events

Some travel may be required for industry events and client meetings
