Job Title: Compliance Business Partner – Egypt

Introduction to role:

Are you ready to drive change and make a difference? As the Compliance Business Partner for Egypt, you'll lead and maintain a robust compliance program that empowers AstraZeneca to achieve its strategic goals while adhering to our Code of Ethics, laws, and industry standards. As a key member of Egypt's Senior Leadership Team, you'll advise leaders, foster an ethical culture, and enhance accountability and controls.

Accountabilities:

  • Program leadership: Implement and sustain the compliance program aligned to AZ’s eight‑element framework; drive continuous improvement.

  • Senior leadership and LCC: Serve on the Egypt SLT; lead LCC governance; embed first‑line ownership and support second‑line activities (assurance, framework, investigations follow‑up).

  • Risk management: Coordinate risk assessments for projects and BAU; address ABAC, fraud, privacy, antitrust, and off‑label risks; define mitigations and first‑line monitoring.

  • Assurance and remediation: Partner with Assurance on trends, audit readiness, and timely action closure; track remediation to reduce residual risk.

  • Training and culture: Deliver risk‑based training and communications (e.g., Ambassador/Champion initiatives) to reinforce ethics, transparency, and integrity.

  • Business partnering: Advise commercial and enabling functions (Finance, Legal, HR, Medical) to enable compliant decisions and business delivery.

  • Data privacy (DDPO): Act as Egypt DDPO; implement privacy controls, incident response, and records of processing with the Global Data Privacy Office.

  • Third‑party compliance: Ensure due diligence, oversight, and monitoring per the Global Standard – Engaging Third Parties, including alternative pathways where relevant.

  • Reporting and escalation: Provide compliance metrics and insights; escalate material issues; meet regional/area reporting requirements.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • +10 years’ significant experience in pharmaceuticals or similarly regulated industries.

  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance, healthcare compliance regulations/codes, and compliance risk domains (e.g., ABAC, fraud, data privacy).

  • Proven experience advising senior leaders and driving cross‑functional implementation in a matrix environment.

  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; fluency in English.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrable project management experience

  • Arabic language skills.

  • Experience with assurance/audit readiness, and 1st line monitoring frameworks.
