Job Purpose:

The Compliance Officer will evaluate the effectiveness of controls, identify ineffective practices, recommend measures for improvements and monitoring compliance with policies and procedures. The Compliance Officer is responsible for carrying out the tasks assigned to him/her and supporting the Compliance Manager and Senior Compliance Officer. The Compliance Officer will also support in monitoring the Compliance and Ethics related topics.


Key Accountabilities:

Operational

  • Participate as a key team member in Compliance projects.
  • Maintain Compliance competency through ongoing professional development.
  • Understands, identifies, evaluates and documents key risks and controls.
  • Evaluate internal controls and lack of compliance with internal procedures and policies which may result in inadequate, inefficient, or ineffective operations.
  • Develop Compliance working papers in accordance with departmental standards to support the performance in alignment with management.
  • Support the Seniors and Mangers in all compliance aspects such as the development and implementation of Code of Conduct with the inclusion of topics related to Compliance with laws and regulations, Conflict of Interest, Anti-corruption, Fair competition, Company records, Protection of confidential information, Equal employment opportunity: non-discrimination/anti-harassment, reporting concerns and no tolerate for retaliation.
  • Work on implanting a detailed monitoring programs/plan to monitor the activities of company employees to ensure they follow the company’s compliance and ethics policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support the screening of new and existing third parties and employees for contractual relationships with government entities/officials, conflict of interest and/or possible reputational issues.
  • Support in handling the compliance requirements/reports by company partners.
  • Assist Seniors and Managers in accomplishing Compliance objects in a team environment.
  • Determine root cause(s) for raised issues, develop practical solutions and value-added recommendations, and conclude as to the effectiveness and efficiency of overall controls and business practices.
  • Participate in gathering and evaluating large amounts --of data in a variety of company settings
  • Performs other duties and takes responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Qualifications:

BSc/BA in A relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus

Preferably Certificate of GRC, CCO and relevant accreditations

Minimum Experience:

0-2 Years’ Experience in compliance duties (multi-national company is preferable)

Excellent MS Office skills

Skills:

Basic Understanding of Regulations – Awareness of key laws and policies related to compliance

Company Policies – Ability to learn and understand internal policies and procedures.

Research Skills – Ability to look up, read, and summarize new regulations or guidelines.

Documentation – Drafting, organizing, and maintaining compliance records.

Reporting Basics – Preparing simple compliance reports or summaries.
