About the role:
We are looking for a Compliance Officer with a keen understanding of regulatory frameworks within the insurance and financial services industry. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our operations comply with the relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards. You will collaborate with multiple teams, including Legal and Finance, to drive effective compliance programs and manage potential risks to the business.
Some high-impact responsibilities you will be entrusted with:
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to ensure adherence to internal and external regulatory standards.
- Monitor and report on compliance with regulatory requirements, identifying and addressing gaps where necessary.
- Provide training and support to Bayzat staff on compliance-related matters to foster a culture of compliance.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring timely submission of reports and other documentation.
- Investigate compliance issues, addressing concerns swiftly and effectively.
- Stay informed on changes to relevant laws and regulations, ensuring Bayzat remains compliant in a constantly evolving landscape
- Review and draft internal and external contracts to ensure adherence to compliance standards and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with all departments to advise on and assist in embedding compliance and global best practices into all workstreams.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in compliance (e.g., CCEP) are a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Expertise in regulatory compliance, risk management, and internal controls.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Proficiency in compliance management software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Arabic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of legal frameworks related to compliance is a plus.
- Experience in the UAE or Middle Eastern regulatory environment is preferred.
- Strong ethical standards and integrity.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Remote working capability with occasional office visits.
