    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Education, or a related field.
    • Hold, or be eligible to obtain/maintain, a West Virginia teaching license with the appropriate computer science authorization or endorsement.
    • Demonstrated understanding of foundational computer science concepts.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and engage with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience teaching computer science or coding at the middle or high school level.
    • Familiarity with instructional technologies and computer science education platforms.
    • Strong classroom management skills and a student-centered teaching philosophy.
    • Proficient in Office365 applications
    • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

    SALARY: Based on Calhoun County Teachers and Supplemental Salary Schedule commensurate with degree level and experience.

    Salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.

    Job Description:
    • Teach computer science concepts, including programming, algorithms, computational thinking, computer applications
    • Guide students through principles of hardware and software design, implementation techniques, and ethical and societal impacts of computing.
    • Deliver engaging instruction that meets or exceeds the standards set by the West Virginia Board of Education.
    • Utilize diverse teaching strategies to ensure all students can succeed in meeting course objectives.
    • Collaborate with school and district leaders to align course offerings with state policy and student graduation pathways.
    • Maintain accurate records and report student progress in accordance with district policies.
    • Travel required, as needed to, attend professional development to stay up to date on educational standards and industry practices

    • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum
