POSITION PROFILE

A hotel concierge is responsible for ensuring a positive guest experience by providing personalized services and assistance. Key duties include making reservations for dining or entertainment, arranging transportation, providing recommendations for local attractions, and resolving guest issues. They also handle various administrative tasks, answer inquiries, and may help with check-in/check-out.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Guest services and support:
  • Greet guests, assist with check-in/check-out, and handle their requests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Reservations and bookings:
  • Make reservations for restaurants, events, tours, spa services, and other entertainment on behalf of guests.
  • Information and recommendations:
  • Provide recommendations and information on local attractions, shopping, dining, and other amenities.
  • Arranging services:
  • Coordinate transportation, luggage assistance, and other special requests.
  • Problem-solving:
  • Address and resolve guest complaints and issues, acting as a liaison between the guest and management when necessary.
  • Administrative tasks:
  • Manage incoming and outgoing deliveries, answer phones, process payments, and assist with on-site events.
  • Local networking:
  • Build and maintain a network of local contacts, service providers, and businesses to better serve guests.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are crucial.
  • A deep knowledge of the local area, including attractions, restaurants, and events, is essential.
  • Proficiency with booking and property management software is often required.
  • Emotional intelligence, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure are important.
  • A high school diploma or GED is the minimum requirement, though a hospitality-related diploma or degree can be beneficial.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Standing and Walking: You'll need to stand and walk for extended periods throughout your shift, often for the entire shift.
  • Reaching and Bending: Duties include reaching, bending, and sometimes stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
  • Pushing and Pulling: You will need to push and pull as part of your daily tasks.
