Concrete Block Plant Assistant / Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Concrete Block Plant Assistant / Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will support daily plant operations, assist with equipment maintenance, and ensure the smooth production of high-quality concrete blocks. Your energetic approach and technical skills will contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in manufacturing, facilities maintenance, and technical troubleshooting within a fast-paced setting.

Duties

  • Assist with the operation of concrete block manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met
  • Support maintenance activities including troubleshooting machinery issues, performing repairs, and conducting routine inspections using schematics and electrical diagrams
  • Use programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to monitor and adjust production processes as needed
  • Conduct welding and mechanical repairs on plant machinery and structural components to uphold operational integrity
  • Perform electrical work including testing circuits with ohmmeters and interpreting schematics for troubleshooting electrical faults
  • Support facilities maintenance tasks such as residential painting, cleaning, and general upkeep of the plant environment
  • Supervise or assist with team members during shift operations, fostering a collaborative work environment focused on safety and efficiency

Requirements

  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing or facilities maintenance environments
  • Welding skills and experience with residential painting are considered advantageous
  • Basic supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Excellent communication skills in English to effectively document procedures and collaborate with team members
  • Ability to interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings accurately
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and quality standards in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.43 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
